Guest Post by Rachel.
Apparently, the radiator was repaired just in time. As Mom packed the last items in the back, Dad finished up preparing the inner workings of the vehicle, and the Grandkids, who had come to see them off, amused themselves with the horn.
Then came the collection of necessary family photos, without which no momentous occasion is truly momentous.
With the grandkids…
By themselves…
With the kids AND Grandkids…
And with the neighbors.
As the FINAL final (final) preparations were made, the Grandkids had one last chance to climb on what they were sure was an oversized toy that Pop had fixed up just for them.
And at 12:36 pm on September 3, their adventure began.
Woo-Hoo! This is so exciting! I am so happy that you two are going to do this. I met Rachel through blogging and she is such a delightful person. You did good with her! :)
ReplyDeleteRachel-do you think you might could put up a followers button for us folks that don't do twitter. That way we can know when a new post is up.
So excited for them! And I am glad you did a guest post. I think anyone studying Alabama history this year should follow (hint hint you homeschoolers out there)....
